Dahlia Green Cleaning Services was founded in June 2012 by four women with shared economic needs. Motivated by the desire to create more just and dignified jobs in the cleaning industry, Brenda Jimenez, Eva Marroquin, Cyndi Jimenez, Maria Munoz came together to improve the standard of living for themselves, their families, and their community. The mission of Dahlia is to create jobs with fair wages and equal opportunity, for the benefit of our members and our families. We are committed to providing a quality service that ensures the welfare of our customers, our members and the environment.

We are the first worker-owned cooperative in Austin, TX that specializes in green cleaning. Our work is done with hand-made eco-friendly products that promote a healthy living environment for our customers, our members, and the planet. We offer fair prices, high quality services, and a level professionalism based on more than 50 years of experience in the cleaning industry.

At Dahlia, we want to exceed the expectations of our customers. We are both workers and owners, which prompts us to give the best service possible. Our work is based on equality and democracy, offering a service with a friendly and nurturing environment.

Why Dahlia?

In order to have a symbol that brought us all together, our members chose the name Dahlia to represent the cooperative. Like our members, the Dahlia is a flower that is originally from both Mexico and Guatemala. Like our members, the Dahlia comes in a variety of colors and can withstand changes in climate. The Dahlia also represents nature, which our cooperative is trying to preserve by using green cleaning products made by the workers themselves to ensure that our services do not harm our members, our clients or the planet.
